Hotels in Pavia - Pavia is a town and comune of
south-western Lombardy, northern Italy, 35 km south of Milan on the
lower Ticino river near its confluence with the Po. Hotels in Pavia - The city is in the plain known as

Ticino divides the city into two parts connected by few bridges the most
famous are the "Ponte Coperto" (covered bridge) built during the Roman
Empire and destroyed during the II world war but reconstructed in the
following years, trying to preserve the style of the original manufact,
and the "Ponte dell' Impero" (Empire Bridge).
Accomodations in Mantua - Pavia is the capital of a fertile province essentially devoted to agriculture (wine, rice, cereals, dairy products). Some industries located in the suburbs do not disturb the peaceful atmosphere which comes from the preservation of the city's past and the climate of study and meditation associated with its ancient University. The real reason to go to Pavia, however, is the Certosa. Located about six miles out of town, this extravagantly decorated Carthusian monastery is the Lombard Renaissance's most spectacular achievement.
