Hotels in Pescara

Pescara is a city in central Italy, in the region of Abruzzo. The city is divided in two by the river of the same name. In 1926, Pescara, the part of the city on the south of Pescara river and Castellamare Adriatico, the part of the city on the north of Pescara river were unified in a single city, the current Pescara. The poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, who was born here, was a major sponsor for creation of the new city.

The main town and resort of the Abruzzo coast is Pescara, a bustling, modern place that's probably the region's most commercial and expensive city. If you're looking for somewhere to sunbathe there are much quieter places than Pescara's sixteen-kilometre beach; but if you're aiming to take a ferry over to Croatia or the islands of the Dalmatian coast, you might find yourself using the city as a departure point, or there's a chance you might pass through for the train or bus connections.
