VILLA SAN GIOVANNI ACCOMODATION - Villa San Giovanni is a town of 14,000 inhabitants in
the province of Reggio Calabria and is the main point of Ferry service to and
from Sicily. Villa San Giovanni has become a fully-fledged town in 2005, the
border to the north Scilla, with Bolano south, east to Campo Calabro and west of
course is the Straits of Messina. One of the most interesting of Villa San
Giovanni is the fraction Acciarello that borders the city to the capital Reggio
Calabria, in this fraction is one of the most characteristic of the area: the
church of Saints Cosmas and Damian, built in 1742 out of committee on Don
Giuseppe Azzarello. Unfortunately, the church was half destroyed by the
earthquake of 1783 and then rebuilt 30 years later. The village of Villa San
Giovanni can welcome its visitors in hotels, lodges and bed and breakfast in
several categories.
Another area of Villa San Giovanni,
which deserves to be visited is the one occupied by the hamlet of Cannitello
located to the north and runs in a panoramic position, just along the coast of
the Strait. The fraction of Cannitello directly overlooks the beach assault
each year by the many tourists who reach these shores, the reason is simple, it
is a stretch of coast really impressive to see, the sea is always clean and
clear, also from Here you can enjoy a view of Cape missed Vatican and the
beautiful Aeolian Islands. You might also want to visit the village of piece
that also extends along the coast to the port of Villa, here you can admire the
Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Grace. Of course, even by piece you can
enjoy panoramic views over the Strait of Messina.
